Notorious for leaking material, it was no surprise when Wiley leaked his collaborative effort with Jay Weathers, Chill Out Zone, a couple of weeks back. Jay Weathers spoke exclusively to BNTL, to discuss that project, the fallout and the motivation for his first solo EP - Chill Out Zone Too.

Prince @ Hop Farm Festival

Last year I had the chance to see Stevie Wonder - I slept through it. Could have seen Gil Scott-Heron - was on a long ting. So, when I returned home Saturday night to find Boilerman Dean preparing to go and see Prince, I wasted no time in sorting out a wristband (hustle) to see the legend.
We duly jumped in the BoilerVan Sunday morning, made the 28 mile trip and witnessed one of the best performances ever!

"Do you know how many hits we got?" He said half way through his near 3 hour set. He wasn’t lying! Little Red Corvette, Purple Rain and Kiss were obvious highlights as were the sporadic covers such as The Beatles’
Come together.
3 encores later I reflected on the show. The built up anticipation. The barn storming opening. The 2 minute solos. In the midst of 30,000 people I watched as Prince conjured up a visually magical show accompanied by what has to be one of the most talented and definitely best looking, backing bands ever!
Respect to the crew who was there, and the girl who jumping up and down to see over the heads of the crowd shrieked with every glimpse of the legend.

The BoilerVan returned home that night, but the party continued. Festivals are a weird place when you stay too long and find your co-inhabitants are tractors and articulated lorries. Leaving the mess of the festival/construction-site asap we found a pub and chilled in the most perfect beer garden.

BLDG: Underground

This is why I love this blog!

Last year I done a project about rooms on hydraulic construction arms and a few days later something similar appeared on BLDG. And so, mid-third-year grind I find a post on the Underground. I take no credit, but it goes to show how on point Geoff Manaugh is.

Stand out point:

that, within the ground itself, a unified political resistance takes shape”

Police threw a section 60 cordon around the whole of the royal wedding zone on Friday morning to respond to anarchists masking up at a small gathering in Soho Square in central London.

The section 60 order allows police officers to stop and search anyone without discretion. The police also imposed section 60a, which gives them the power to remove masks and balaclavas from anyone within the area.

Political Policing

Seems funny how the wedding was scheduled so close to mayday. Pre-emtive raids and subsequent arrests of activist (or those commentating on activist movements) under the guise of Royal Wedding security has resulted in individuals being banned from central London for the entire weekend. Funny.

Nice day for a revolution

What solution?

May Day is the occasion we celebrate the grand achievements of the workers of the world in making our world a far, far better place to live in. David Harvey sheds light.
